Welcome
I’m super excited about these fabulous morning journals. I have designed them based on my own learned morning ritual.
I start my day by jotting down anything I dreamed of upon waking. I find if I don’t write it straightaway I’ll forget. Sometimes I’ll remember other bits of my dreams and add them later.
Then I go and stand, normally in the garden, with a cup of coffee and take a moment to protect my energies. This is as easy as me standing, eyes closed, cradling my coffee. Breathing deeply and saying in my mind.
‘Please let the universal energies flow through me and keep me healthy, wealthy, happy and safe. Please deflect negativity from me and let the positive energies sprinkle over me like a snow globe.’
With the negative I imagine the scene from the Matrix where Neo stops the bullets and the positive is the vision of being at the P!nk concert with the blue and yellow confetti showering down.
If I know I might have a tricky day or that I’ll out and about a while, I’ll add
‘Please pop a bell jar over me to protect my energies further.’
Next, I send energy to my children and granddaughter by saying -
‘Please send a massive hug to (I say each of their names) help keep them healthy, wealthy, happy and safe. Let them know they are truly loved. Deflect negativity and sprinkle them with positivity.’
I then take the rest of my coffee back with me to bed and sit and write my Morning Pages as Julia Cameron suggests. I started this during 2020 in London Writer Salon and whether I join Writing Hour or not I sit and do these. It really has been transformative.
If I’m having a difficult time I’ll sit and do more journalling throughout the day. I find it helps me find gratitude and clarity. It’s also a great reminder of the things I’ve done or have planned. The magic in this simple ritual is that you can use it in whichever way you like. You can simply write it like a diary or go into deep reflection. Julia Cameron suggests not putting too much thought into it, just to write three pages of stream of consciousness. It’s always incredible what comes up.
My hope is that this Journal will help you to build this structure into your day. They are a month long and I think they will look fabulous by the end of a year in a stack. I’d really love to hear your thoughts on how you get on with them. I’m planning a few other journals but in the meantime I really need to get back to editing the next book. Plus, we’re relocating next week, a lot of exciting things going on!
Take care, much love, Claire x
